Colom orders doping suspension to be dropped

Toni Colom has asked the Spanish cycling federation to drop his temporary suspension due to a positive doping control, claiming the case against him is filled with errors. The International Cycling Union (UCI) ordered the provisional suspension in June, saying the Spaniard had tested positive for EPO in an out-of-competition control in April. Diplomas from the UCI for Directeurs

Twenty-six ProTour and Professional Continental Directeurs Sportif can now claim a diploma for having completed the course “From Passion to Performance”. The management training course, held the beginning of November, was sponsored by the International Cycling Union (UCI). A total of 26 Directeurs Sportif took part in the programme, and were then asked to draw up activity plans for their teams, based on what they had learned. UCI to decide final Pro Continental squads in January

Androni–Diquigiovanni principal Gianni Savio has expressed his confidence that his team will be granted Professional Continental status when the International Cycling Union (UCI) makes a final ruling on the second tier licences in January, 2010. Di Luca’s CERA hearing scheduled for February

Danilo Di Luca will face a hearing at the Italian anti-doping Tribunal (TNA) on Monday, February 1, 2010, for his positive test results for CERA during this year’s Giro d’Italia. The Italian was provisionally suspended by the International Cycling Union (UCI) on July 22, when it was confirmed that he had tested positive for the third-generation EPO after stages 11 and 18 of the Giro. Twenty Pro Continental teams apply for Wild Card status

Twenty Professional Continental teams have applied for Wild Card status, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced today. Teams granted Wild Card status for the 2010 season have the right to be invited to races on the UCI ProTour calendar. UCI wants one cyclo-cross race-free weekend monthly in Belgium

There are too many cyclo-cross races in Belgium, according to other countries and the International Cycling Union (UCI). Ullrich set to keep Olympic medals

Jan Ullrich is likely to keep his medals from the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, according to Jacques Rogge, head of the International Olympic Committee. The IOC is investigating stories of his use of doping, but so far has no conclusive evidence to take action against the German. Rogge also said that the IOC will continue to support cycling and the International Cycling Union (UCI). Liquigas-Domio escapes the snow for pre-season training

Fresh from its visit to the snow in Passo San Pellegrino, Italy, Team Liquigas-Domio began training in slightly sunnier climes in Valencia, Spain, this week.
