Trek

Trek is the most famous and influential American road bike brand and produced the bikes that cycling legend Lance Armstrong rode on all seven of his Tour de France victories.

Starting out with just five employees in 1975, Trek sold steel bike frames for about $200 but within three years came close to sales of $2,000,000.

Trek built its first aluminium bike in 1985 and the following year created its first carbon fibre bike.

In 2008 Trek split from its longtime business associate Greg LeMond, after a long period of high tension between the two parties.

The Trek 1500 is one of the most popular entry-level bikes on the market today and is used to introduce thousands of cyclists to road riding.

At the top of the current Trek range is the Madone 6.9 Pro, a super light, ultra balanced machine that was spared no expense in design and production.
