Van den Broeck signs new contract with Silence-Lotto

Jurgen Van den Broeck has re-signed with Silence-Lotto and will remain with the team until the end of 2011. The 26-year-old told the Gazet van Antwerpen that with the departure of Cadel Evans for BMC he was confident he can now assume a leadership role within the team. Van den Broeck finished 15th overall at the 2009 Tour de France, 15 places higher than the team’s designated leader, Evans.
