AUSTRALIA’S Cadel Evans is set for the Tour Down Under this week after joining his team mates in Adelaide.

The world champion is looking to follow up on his fantastic 2009 season with a brilliant first up performance.

“I’m enormously pleased to be joining my new team,” Evans told cyclingnews.com, after arriving at the team hotel on Friday evening. He will be making his debut with the US-based team.

Of course Evans doesn’t have to face the task of adjusting to the country like some of his team mates with the Barwon Heads Evans comfortably in his native home.

Evans is an outstanding chance to take out the Tour Down Under and will fancy his chances.
